“When adults say, ‘Teenagers think they are invincible’ with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don’t know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die. Like all energy we can only change shapes and sizes and manifestations. They forget that when they get old. They get scared of losing and failing. But that part of us greater than the sum of our parts cannot begin and cannot end, and so it cannot fail.”

Shout, shout, let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on, I’m talking to you, come on♫

Just to put it out there. I’ve been reading a lot of negative comments about the MTV show Skins. I support the show. Do I prefer it over the UK version? No. I think the UK version was very raw and true while MTV tried to go for shock factor over quality. Do I think the people on this show deserve a little more credit than people are giving them? Absolutely. They, like almost everyone else who has shit on the show, are artists. We are artists together. We may not agree on certain things but imagine almost everyone telling you that your work is shit. That everything you worked so hard for was just shot down before anyone gave it a chance. Thats what these guys faced. The show, I have to admit, got progressively wittier, funnier and deeper as time went on. Again, I won’t sit here and lie and say I enjoyed the writing more than the UK version, but it did improve from the first episode they gave us. Writing, ideas, blah, blah, and blah aside I just think we need to consider how much work went into this. I’ve gotten the chance to talk to a lot of the cast and they always talk about how much of an emotional ride it has been. None of them think they’re super famous for it or that they cured cancer with the show. They just think they worked hard and they want to entertain us.
So for that I give the entire cast credit and my sincerest congratulations and I wish them all the best of luck in the future.
